Embracing Your Core Energies: Understanding Masculine, Feminine & Polarity
In his TEDxSurat talk, Yash Vasant explores a timeless yet often misunderstood truth about human connection: the interplay of masculine and feminine energies. He opens with a simple question—Why do we fall in love but rarely speak of rising in it?—and uses this as a springboard to introduce the concept of two forms of love: love without intimacy and love with intimacy. The second, he argues, is driven by a magnetic force he calls “amority”, the invisible pull between two contrasting core energies.
What Exactly Is “Amority”?
Vasant describes amority as the energetic tension created when masculine and feminine forces meet. These aren’t biological attributes but energetic archetypes, known through history as yin and yang or Shiva and Shakti. They operate independently of gender and shape how we communicate, problem‑solve, and relate.
The masculine energy, he notes, seeks to solve, minimize, control, and protect. The feminine energy processes by expressing, expanding, flowing, and nurturing. Neither is better nor weaker—each simply functions differently, and both are essential.
How We Lose Touch With Our Core
Although everyone is born with a dominant core energy, life experiences often encourage us to adopt “masks.” A feminine‑core individual praised for being in control may layer on masculine masks; a masculine‑core individual discouraged from solving or leading may layer on feminine masks.
These masks attract each other temporarily, creating relationships that feel thrilling at first—but once the deeper cores surface, misalignment causes friction, distance, and eventually disconnection. This, Vasant argues, is why relationships can shift from passionate to strained seemingly overnight.
Why This Matters Beyond Romance
The diminishing polarity between masculine and feminine energies, he says, doesn’t just affect intimacy—it shows up in broader societal and even biological patterns. He cites rising rates of PCOS, infertility, and declining sperm counts as indicators of a deeper imbalance in how we relate to our natural energetic design.
A Story of True Polarity
Vasant shares a personal story about a close friend—a woman he admired deeply but never felt romantic sparks with. One day, when she allowed herself to be emotionally vulnerable, he witnessed her true feminine essence. In that moment, he felt an immediate, profound shift: the spark of real amority. She is now his wife.
Keeping Amority Alive
Amority exists on a scale, strongest at the edges—where each person lives most authentically in their core energy. As individuals move toward the middle, trying to homogenize under the name of equality, polarity fades.
Yet this magnetic force can last a lifetime. Vasant recalls a couple married 40 years who still shared an unmistakable spark—proof that polarity doesn’t diminish with age when nurtured.
The Invitation
Ultimately, Vasant emphasizes that our power lies in our authentic core. For the feminine, vulnerability becomes strength. For the masculine, creating safety becomes purpose.
It is not sameness but our differences that create attraction, connection, and lasting love. When we honor them, we don’t just fall in love—we rise in it.
